Saturday saw Ryan Hunter-Reay claim his first victory of 2015 at Iowa, ahead of Josef Newgarden and Sage Karam. It was also a back to back for Hunter-Reay as he won in Iowa last year.
It was an important race in regards to the championship battle as Juan Pablo Montoya failed to finish and with Scott Dixon only managing to finish eighteenth, it allowed Graham Rahal, who finished fourth, to leap into second in the standings. It means that Montoya is now forty two points ahead of second.
Rahal though is only six points ahead of Dixon, who in turn is six ahead of Helio Castroneves. After finishing tenth, Will Power is now only a point behind Castroneves.
With only three rounds left in the 2015 season, the title fight continues to develop.
