Although there is no MotoGP this weekend, as it is in the middle of its summer break and Formula One has just begun its own after last weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix, there is still some racing action to get stuck into.
FIA European Formula 3
The FIA’s European Formula 3 series heads to Austria and the Red Bull Ring for the twenty second, twenty third and twenty fourth races of the season.
Italian, Antonio Giovinazzi currently leads the championship ahead of Charles Leclerc and Felix Rosenqvist. Both Giovinazzi and Rosenqvist won last time out in Zandvoort and will be hoping for more of the same, whilst Leclerc will hope to once again stand on the top step of the podium after not achieving a top three finish in the last round.
Over in the United States, IndyCar also returns, heading to Mid-Ohio for the Honda Indy 200.
Juan Pablo Montoya still leads the championship, despite not finishing in the last round in Iowa. Graham Rahal will be hoping to build on his fourth place finish last round which enabled him to leap up to second in the standings, whilst Scott Dixon, Helio Castroneves and Will Power will all be hoping to close the gap to Montoya in the standings.
Both championships are nearing the end of their 2015 season with championship challenging drivers needing to achieve high scoring results in order to keep their title aspirations alive.
