Like Formula One, there will be a new team entering the GP2 series this season, Prema Racing.

The team, under the name Prema Powerteam, have been and continue to race in FIA European Formula 3 Championship (Euro F3), where they have fielded the eventual champion since the FIA introduced Euro F3 in 2013.
With this in mind there are some wondering how well Prema Racing will do in their debut season in GP2.
For their first season in the series, the team will field Frenchman, Pierre Gasly and Italian, Antonio Giovanazzi who also arrives into GP2 from the Euro F3 series.

Although Gasly had a difficult 2015 season in GP2, he is still highly rated and managed to claim four podium finishes. He is also part of the Red Bull Young Drivers program.
Antonio Giovanazzi, although new to GP2, did finish runner-up in Euro F3 last season, behind Prema Powerteam’s Felix Rosenqvist.
The team therefore have the experience of winning championships, albeit in different formula, and have two talented drivers, one already with experience of competing in GP2. Everything is in place for a competitive debut season.
