Battle for seventh

Speaking of seventh place, it is currently occupied in the driver standings by the Williams of Valtteri Bottas. His closest rival is that of the Force India of Sergio Perez who is eight points behind the Williams driver.

It has been very close between the two since the return from the summer break with both claiming an eight place finish. However Perez has performed slightly better having claimed a fifth place, whilst Bottas has claimed a sixth.

Hulkenberg is the more in form of the two having claimed a fourth and a tenth since the summer break, whilst Massa has claimed a tenth and a ninth in the same time.

It is also interesting to note that Hulkenberg is on a good run of form having claimed points finishes in his last five Grand Prix.

Battle of the Spaniards, but beware

The two Spanish drivers in Formula One of Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz both remain on thirty points with Alonso currently ahead of Sainz.

Neither however can ignore Romain Grosjean who is only two points behind. Although he hasn’t claimed a points finish since the Austrian Grand Prix.

Fourteenth and fifteenth

Five points behind Romain Grosjean is the Scuderia Toro Rosso of Daniil Kvyat who is having a difficult 2016 so far having claimed only four points finishes so far this season, although one was a podium finish at the Chinese Grand Prix for Red Bull.

Kvyat however is only six points ahead of the McLaren of Jenson Button.
