The second round of the 2019 FIA Formula 3 championship saw Prema Racing drivers take the feature and sprint race victories with Indian, Jehan Daruvala, claiming the feature race win while Russian, Robert Shwartzman, took the sprint race victory.
A good weekend for…
It was a good event for the aforementioned Daruvala and Shwartzman who both finished the weekend having accumulated over thirty points, leaving Daruvala second and Shwartzman first in the driver standings.Embed from Getty Images
It was also a good performance by Brazilian, Pedro Piquet, who after having failed to score any points in the opening round in Barcelona managed to score twenty seven points across the two races during the weekend.
Piquet was not the only driver to get points on the board as Bent Viscaal, Richard Verschoor, Liam Lawson, Jake Hughes, Alex Peroni and Logan Sargeant all scored their first points of the season.Embed from Getty Images
There were also solid performances for Marcus Armstrong and Juri Vips who both managed to finish the weekend scoring double figure points.
A bad weekend for…
After finishing the Barcelona weekend with the second highest points total, it was a difficult weekend for Dane, Christian Lundgaard, who failed to score any points in France.
It was also a difficult weekend for David Beckmann, Niko Kari, and Max Fewtrell, who all scored double figure points in Barcelona but between them only managed one point during the second round courtesy of Beckmann finishing tenth in the feature race.Embed from Getty Images
Despite scoring his first points of the season during the weekend, it could have gone better for Jake Hughes who was in contention for a bigger points haul than the six he eventually finished with.
Formula 3 heads to Austria this weekend to support the Formula 1 race.
