The sixth round of the 2019 FIA Formula 2 season saw Japanese driver, Nobuharu Matsushita, take victory in the feature race while Brazilian, Sergio Sette Camara, won the sprint race.
A good weekend for…
It was a very good weekend for four drivers in particular. Those being, Nyck de Vries, Matsushita, Luca Ghiotto and Sette Camara with all of them scoring over twenty five points each across the weekend.
Embed from Getty ImagesIt was a particularly good weekend for Ghiotto when taking into consideration he had failed to score any points in the two rounds prior to Austria.
Outside of the four already mentioned, it was a good weekend for Mick Schumacher, who like Ghiotto, ended a run of zero point scoring weekends in Austria after finishing fourth in the sprint race.
A bad weekend for…
After being spun round by his teammate during the feature race, it was a difficult weekend for championship challenger, Nicholas Latifi, who managed to only score six points across the two races. He is however still in second place in the championship.
Embed from Getty ImagesAfter the high of the French Grand Prix weekend, scoring eighteen points, it was another zero point scoring weekend for Juan Manuel Correa in Austria.
Lastly, it was a difficult weekend for Guanyu Zhou, who after having managed to score over twenty points in each of the last three rounds, managed to score only nine points during the weekend in Austria.
What next?
Formula 2 will return when it supports Formula 1 at the British Grand Prix from 12 July to 14 July.
