The ninth round of the Moto2 2019 season was won by Spaniard, Alex Marquez ahead of KTM’s Brad Binder and German, Marcel Schrotter.
A good weekend for…
Having retired from the Dutch TT, it was a solid weekend for Alex Marquez who claimed victory in Germany, his fourth victory in the last five races. It also means the Spaniard is back on top of the Moto2 rider standings going into a summer break for the series.
Embed from Getty ImagesIt was a strong weekend for Marcel Schrotter, in front of his home fans. He was cheered on as he managed to secure his third podium finish of the season, and was in the fight for second as well during the race.
Following on from his first podium finish of 2019 at the Dutch TT, Brad Binder claimed another second place finish at the Sachsenring.
A bad weekend for…
To add to Thomas Luthi’s weekend, he collided with Spaniard, Xavi Vierge, which resulted in Luthi picking up a penalty during the race on his way to finishing fifth. The result also meant that he has lost the lead in the championship to Marquez.
