2019 Formula 2 British Grand Prix Preview

This weekend is the seventh round of the Formula 2 Championship which will be supporting Formula 1 at the British Grand Prix.

At the top of the championship

Nyck de Vries leads the way in the standings ahead of Nicholas Latifi and Sergio Sette Camara.

It is an important weekend for the chasing pack as de Vries has managed to create a thirty seven point lead in the championship and enters the weekend off the back of a double podium finish during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend.

Home heroes

There are due to be three Britons on the grid in Formula 2 this weekend. One of which is Jack Aitken who heads to Silverstone after a difficult Austrian Grand Prix.

Jordan King enters the weekend off the back of a double points finish in the last round while the last Briton, Callum Ilott, finished just outside the points in the Austrian sprint race.

Others to watch

It’s not just the British drivers and top three in the championship that are worth following during the weekend with Luca Ghiotto and Nobuharu Matsushita both having had strong weekend’s in Austria while Formula 2 rookies, Guanyu Zhou and Anthoine Hubert are always worth watching, having both consistently impressed so far this season.
