This weekend is the final round of the 2019 IndyCar season which takes place at Laguna Seca.
The top four

The favourite is current championship leader, Josef Newgarden who has a forty one point advantage over second placed Alexander Rossi.
Newgarden is forty two points ahead of Simon Pagenaud who is third in the standings and goes to Laguna Seca in the best form having finished inside the top ten in the last eight races.
Lastly, an outside shot of the title is Scott Dixon who is eighty five points behind Newgarden.
Dixon is the driver out of the four to have won most recently, claiming victory in Mid-Ohio while Newgarden’s last victory came at Iowa, Pagenaud’s at Toronto and Rossi’s at Road America.
Season’s race winners
There have been seven different winners across the sixteen races heading into the season finale with Newgarden having claimed the most victories (4) ahead of the next best of Simon Pagenaud (3).Embed from Getty Images
One of those seven winners is Colton Herta who claimed his maiden IndyCar victory in the second round of the season at the Circuit of the Americas.
Outside the top ten
Having a strong finish to 2019 is Tony Kanaan who finished eighth at Pocono, third at Gateway and twelfth last time out in Portland. He is five points ahead of Marco Andretti and is thirty nine points behind Spencer Pigot.
Anything is possible
