This weekend is set to see Super Formula contest the fourth round of its 2020 season at Autopolis.
Ryo Hirakawa leads the championship having finished second last time out at Sugo. He also managed to score points in qualifying for the third successive time. All of which means he has a 15 point advantage over second placed Nick Cassidy.
Cassidy won at Sugo and has a 15 point advantage of his own over Kenta Yamashita and Hiroaki Ishiura who are tied for third in the championship. One point behind Yamashita and Ishiura is Sho Tsuboi who finished outside of the points at Sugo after claiming victory in the second round of the season.
Naoki Yamamoto is directly behind Tsuboi in the championship after claiming his first podium finish of the season at Sugo, where he finished third. Yamamoto is four points behind Tsuboi and is one point ahead of Sacha Fenestraz.
In the Teams’ Championship Team Impul lead with a nine point advantage over second placed Team TOM’s. Both teams only managed to get one car into the points at Sugo.
INGING are third, seven points behind Team Tom’s and therefore 16 behind Team Impul after coming down from the high of a 1-2 finish at Okayama with a 8-13 finish at Sugo. INGING have a five point gap over Kondo Racing who are directly behind them in the championship.
